New hours for Wayne County Convenience Centers start Nov. 1

WAYNE COUNTY – Beginning Nov. 1, all Wayne County Recycling and Convenience Centers will be open from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday. The Convenience Centers will remain closed on Sunday.

The Wayne County Board of Commissioners approved this schedule change Sept. 20 after a recommendation by the solid waste department. “This new schedule is streamlined and easier to remember for residents needing to drop off trash or recycling,” said Solid Waste Director Randy Rogers. “Our old schedule varied by day, and we often heard from residents that it was confusing. We took these comments and began working on a schedule that would work within our existing budget and be more accommodating for our residents.”

Wayne County Solid Waste operates 13 recycling and convenience centers across the county to provide residents with convenient locations to recycle and dispose of household trash. For additional information about the Wayne County Solid Waste Department, visit www.waynegov.com.
