Spring Creek softball team wins

GOLDSBORO — Led by two home runs from Heather Alexander, the Spring Creek softball team defeated Goldsboro 21-5 March 30.

Alexander had four hits, five runs, four RBI, one walk and one stolen base; Jasmine Valentine had three hits, two runs and three RBI; Mattie Staps had three hits, one run and four RBI; Emily Williams had three hits, three runs, four RBI, one walk and one stolen base; Sarah Hess had three hits, five runs, two RBI, one walk, one stolen base and was hit by a pitch; Annmarie Howard had two hits, two runs, one RBI and one walk; Nhayiris Gadea-Savilla had one hit, one run, one stolen base and was hit by a pitch and Emalia West had one hit and one run.

Hess was the winning pitcher, going three innings. Williams pitched two innings. Neither allowed an earned run.

The Gators are 6-3 overall and 1-3 in conference play.
