Southern Wayne wins over SSS

SMITHFIELD — The Southern Wayne baseball team defeated Smithfield-Selma 13-0 March 24.

Cuyler Daly had three hits, one RBI, one run scored and one walk; Jake Coates had two hits, two RBI, two runs scored, one walk and was hit by a pitch; Hayden Waller had two hits, one RBI, three runs scored, two walks and two stolen bases; Drew Sweet had three runs scored and four walks, Alex Ferrell had one RBI, one run scored and one walk; Ella’ Boykin had two RBI, one run scored, one walk and was hit by a pitch; Dylan Daniels had one RBI and one walk and Brayden McKee had two runs scored, one walk and reached on an error.

Waller was the winning pitcher with a five-inning complete game. He allowed two hits, struck out four and walked one.

The Saints are now 8-1 and 3-1 in conference play.
