Southern Wayne tennis team wins on Senior Day
Southern Wayne boys' tennis seniors Andrew Bryan, Alejandro Guzman, Ian Whipley and Evin Williams were honored at Senior Day March 23.
DUDLEY — The Southern Wayne boys’ tennis team defeated Smithfield-Selma 6-3 March 23 on Senior Day. Honored were seniors Andrew Bryan, Alejandro Guzman, Ian Whipkey and Evin Williams.
Winners for the Saints were Aaron Whiting at No. 2 singles, Hudson Hulet at No. 3 singles, Williams at No.4 singles and Matthew Blizzard at No. 5 singles. Southern Wayne won by forfeit at No. 6 singles and No. 3 doubles.
The Saints are now 1-10 on the season and 1-9 in conference play.
