Southern Wayne boys win two of three

DUDLEY — The Southern Wayne boys’ basketball team defeated Hunt 48-39 Jan. 27, lost to South Johnston 77-67 Jan. 31 and defeated Smithfield-Selma 58-44 Feb. 3.

Against Hunt, Chris Carmon had eight points and 10 rebounds, Jylan Council had three points, Dylan Armwood had 12 points and five assists, Tyquavious Williams had 10 points, Eli Boykins had four points and 11 rebounds and Duntae Wright had nine points. Against South Johnston, Carmon had 20 points and 12 rebounds, Terdarius Butler had three points, Chris McDuffie had one point, Council had one point, Dylan Armwood had six points and four assists, Dujan Armwood had five points, Dylan Tyndall had two points, Williams had 13 points, Boykins had 14 points, 11 rebounds and three blocked shots and Wright had one point. No individual statistics were available for the Smithfield-Selma game.

The Saints are now 11-9 overall and 8-4 in conference play.
