Southern Wayne girls win two

DUDLEY — The Southern Wayne girls’ basketball team defeated Hunt 49-37 Jan. 27 and won over South Johnston 41-32 Jan. 31.

No individual statistics were available for the Hunt game. Against South Johnston, Kyren Strong had four points, Elaina Lane had seven points, Jocelyn Bond had three points, Ta’Niyah Glaspie had four points, 11 rebounds, six assists and five steals; Jamaiya Bass had nine points and Nygeria Thompson had 14 points and 13 rebounds.

The SW girls are now 15-5 overall and 9-2 in conference play.
