Treser named National Libero of the Week

MOUNT OLIVE (March 20) – Following a conference road sweep over the weekend, University of Mount Olive senior libero Trevor Treser was named National Libero of the Week by Off the Block on March 20.

A native of Wexford, Pa., Treser averaged 3.13 digs per set with zero reception errors in eight sets played. On Friday, he led the defensive effort with a match-high 12 digs while adding four assists in a 3-1 win at league-leading Erskine. The following day, Treser tallied double-digit digs with 13 with a pair of assists in a 3-1 win over Emmanuel on the road.

He ranks third in NCAA Division I and leads the Conference Carolinas with 2.90 digs per set. In 58 sets played, Treser has tallied 168 digs with only 13 reception errors to boast a .961 reception percentage this season.

Treser becomes the first libero from the Conference Carolinas to garner the accolade this season, while two other student-athletes in the league have received national recognition from the organization this year.

The Off the Block staff determines each award recipient. The winners are announced every week during the regular season on the Off the Block website, offtheblockblog.com. While there are other weekly national awards in college men’s volleyball, these are the only position-based weekly awards. Off the Block is a national award-winning website that launched in 2011 and is the nation’s leader in college men’s volleyball coverage.
