Southern Wayne defeats South Johnston

DUDLEY — The Southern Wayne baseball team defeated South Johnston 3-2 March 21.

Cuyler Daly had one hit, Drew Sweet had one hit, Tyler Odom had one hit, Alex Ferrell had one hit and one RBI, Jake Coates had one hit and one RBI, Ella’ Boykin had one hit, one run scored and one walk; Hayden Waller had one RBI, one run scored and reached on an error; James Graham had one run scored and Dylan Daniels had one walk.

Sweet was the winning pitcher with a seven-inning complete game. He struck out four, walked two and allowed five hits.

The Saints are 7-1 on the season and 2-1 in conference play.
