Wayne Community College to host Science Night for third through fifth graders

GOLDSBORO — Biology students in Wayne Community College’s Honors Program will hold a free science event for elementary school students.

“Science Night” is scheduled for 6:30–7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 14. It will be held on the College’s main campus in Goldsboro.

Children are invited to come create soap-powered boats, see their own DNA, learn how ketchup can make pennies shiny and figure out what dissolves gum. These activities are designed for children in grades three through five, but all ages are welcome.

Space is limited to 60 participants who must be accompanied by their parents. Reservations are required. Save your spot by completing the online form.

Registered participants will be provided with details on the event’s location.

BioNetwork provided the event’s materials as part of its STEM outreach program.
