Sponsors needed for Mount Olive Community Day

MOUNT OLIVE — Mount Olive Community Day is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 12, and sponsors are needed to help make the event a success.

The event will include food, drinks, music, games, voter registration, health screenings, CPR training and a bookbag drive. It will be held from 1-5 p.m. at Westbrook Park, 210 Westbrook St.

Organizers Orlando Jones and James Swinson are working on a project with the local health department for the free health screenings. The event will also include a large clothes drive and a chef who has donated time to prepare the food. They hope to have sponsors to help fill 100 bookbags, provide supplies for the cookout and any other help a sponsor would be willing to provide.

Sponsors would be asked to provide gift cards, food, funds or anything to give away as well as their presence at the event. Sponsor logos will be displayed during the day.

Jones and Swinson were born and raised in Mount Olive, and say they make it a priority to give back to their hometown. They will keep any sponsors updated on the progress of the event if they wish.

For more information or to become a sponsor, contact Swinson at 919-440-9462. Donations can also be sent to him at 3149 Cooper Circle, Creedmoor NC 27522.

Jones along with Leaders with Integrity and Values are sponsoring the event.
