South Central eliminates Southern Wayne

WINTERVILLE — The Southern Wayne softball team lost in the first round of the North Carolina High School Athletic Association 3A playoffs May 10 by a 12-1 score at South Central.

Mckenzie Strickland and Riley Hood each had one hit, Lacy Womble, Morgan Brimberry, Reagan Stribble and Gracie Hinson each had one walk and Makayla Smith was hit by a pitch.

Stribble pitched all four innings. The game was stopped in the top of the fifth by the run rule.

The Saints finished the season with a 10-11 record.
