Leclercq, Morelli named all-conference for women’s golf

MOUNT OLIVE – The University of Mount Olive women’s golf team placed a pair of players on the All-Conference Carolinas Teams announced last week by the league office, highlighted by a first-team selection in senior Emma Leclercq.

Junior Victoria Morelli also received second-team status. The Trojans have now featured multiple all-conference selections in seven-consecutive years.

Leclercq led the team with a scoring average of 77.74 strokes while playing in eight events. She carded five top-20 finishes during her senior campaign, including a pair in the top five overall on the individual leaderboard. Leclercq posted a team-best finish in five events while producing the fourth-best scoring average in the Conference Carolinas. She earned two runner-up finishes this year at the Patsy Rendleman Invitational and Barton Intercollegiate. Following a ninth-place finish at the Conference Carolinas Championship, Leclercq was selected to the all-tournament team. She finishes her career as a three-time first-team all-conference recipient.

Morelli ranks second on the team and fifth in the Conference Carolinas in scoring average at 78.26 strokes. She closed the year with her best career finish at the Conference Carolinas Championship after tying for third overall and earning all-tournament honors. In eight events this season, Morelli registered three top-10 finishes with a top-three finish at the league tournament and a fourth-place finish at the Barton Intercollegiate. Morelli posted a team-best finish in second events this year and earns all-conference honors for the first time at Mount Olive.
