Southern Wayne softball team wins over East Wake

DUDLEY — The Southern Wayne softball team defeated East Wake in a home conference game 5-4 on April 18.

Laura Summerlin had three hits, two runs and two stolen bases; Reagan Stribble had two hits and one run, Gracie Hinson had two hits, one run, four RBI and one stolen base; Jocelyn Bond had two hits and one run, Mckenzie Strickland had two hits and one RBI, Makayla Smith had one hit and Megan Long was hit by a pitch.

Stribble was the winning pitcher with a seven-inning complete game. She struck out 16.

The Saints are 7-8 overall and 5-4 in conference games.
