Gregory is conference volleyball Player of the Week

MOUNT OLIVE– After an outstanding performance in the regular season finale, University of Mount Olive junior opposite hitter Justin Gregory was named the Conference Carolinas Player of the Week for men’s volleyball.

A native of Palm Beach, Fla., Gregory averaged 4.33 kills per set last week. He delivered a team-leading 13 kills while adding three service aces, six digs and three blocks in a league win over Barton. Gregory eclipsed 200 kills in the regular-season finale and is tied for the team lead with 25 aces this season. He is in the top-five in Conference Carolinas matches in aces per set at 0.33.

Gregory ranks among the top-15 in the conference in multiple statistical categories following a standout junior campaign. He has tallied 201 kills in 85 sets played. On the defensive side, Gregory has 57 blocks which sits second on the team. He becomes the first UMO player to receive the weekly league award this season.
