North Duplin bests Jones on diamond

CALYPSO — The North Duplin baseball team defeated Jones County in a home non-conference game April 3 by the score of 11-3. Tyler Johnsey homered for the Rebels.

Austin Duff had two hits and two RBI, Tanner Kornegay had one hit, one walk and one stolen base; Wesley Holmes had one hit, two runs, two RBI, one walk and three stolen bases; Garris Warren had one hit, one run, one walk and one stolen base; Johnsey had one hit, one run and three RBI; Branden Reyna had one run, Richard Noble had three runs, three walks, was hit by a pitch and stole four bases and Eric Rosas had three runs, three walks and a stolen base.

Johnsey was the winning pitcher with 4 1/3 innings of work. Kayden Bowden pitched one inning and Esteban Santos-Clark pitched 1 2/3 innings.

North Duplin is 10-2 overall and 3-0 in conference play.
