Saints roll past Smithfield-Selma

SMITHFIELD — The Southern Wayne softball team defeated Smithfield-Selma 26-1 on the road March 24.

Morgan Brimberry had five hits, four runs scored and six RBI, Reagan Stribble had three hits, one run scored and three RBI; Gracie Hinson had two hits, four runs scored, five RBI, two walks and one stolen base; Kylie Barwick had one hit, two runs scored, one walk and one stolen base; Laura Summerlin had one hit, three runs scored and was hit by a pitch twice; Haley Wingate had one hit, one run, one RBI and was hit by a pitch; Chloe Sullivan had one hit, Jocelin Aguilar had one hit, two runs scored, one walk and was hit by a pitch; Avery Jennette had one run scored and one stolen base, Makayla Smith had two runs scored and was hit by a pitch twice, Megan Long had one run scored, one RBI and three walks; Alyssa Darden had one run scored, Jocelyn Bond had one run scored, two RBI, two walks and was hit by a pitch; Mckenzie Strickland had three runs scored, one stolen base and was hit by a pitch twice and Riley Hood had one walk.

Stribble pitched 3 1/3 innings, allowing four hits, striking out four and walking one. Darden pitched 2/3 inning with two strikeouts.

Southern Wayne is 5-5 overall and 3-1 in conference play.
