Rebels’ Johnsey tosses no-hitter

CALYPSO — North Duplin’s Tyler Johnsey pitched a five-inning no-hitter March 21 as the Rebels’ baseball team defeated Neuse Charter 14-0.

Austin Duff had two hits, two RBI, one run scored and one stolen base; Esteban Santos-Clark had two hits, two RBI, two runs scored and one stolen base; Garris Warren had two hits, one RBI, two runs scored and one stolen base; Hunt Pate had one hit, three RBI, one run scored, one stolen base, one walk and was hit by a pitch; Brady Byrd had one hit and one run scored, Wesley Holmes had one RBI, one run scored, one stolen base and reached on an error; Johnsey had one RBI and reached on an error, Kayden Bowden had one run scored and reached on an error, Thomas Moorsiey had one run scored and Eric Rosas had one run scored, one walk and a stolen base.

Johnsey struck out seven and walked two. The Rebels are 7-2 overall and 1-0 in conference play.
