Lahey is Specialist of the Week

MOUNT OLIVE – For the third time this season, University of Mount Olive freshman setter Jackson Lahey was selected the Conference Carolinas Specialist of the Week by the conference office on March 20.

A 6-foot-2 freshman setter from Pembroke Pines, Fla., Lahey averaged 11.63 assists, 1.88 digs and 1.25 blocks per set in back-to-back road conference wins last week for Mount Olive. On Friday, March 17, he guided the offense with 40 assists, four digs, three blocks, and a pair of kills in a convincing 3-1 victory over league-leading Erskine. The following day, Lahey registered his third assist/dig double-double of the season with 53 assists and 11 digs, while adding a career-high seven blocks in a 3-1 win at Emmanuel.

Lahey ranks eighth in NCAA Division II with 10.14 assists per set through 19 matches played. He has tallied at least 40 assists in six contests while also registering a pair of assist/dig double-doubles. Lahey has earned Specialist of the Week three times this year while being named Freshman of the Month twice.
