Brown is Defensive Player of the Week

MOUNT OLIVE – For the second time this season, University of Mount Olive junior goalie Jacob Brown was named the Conference Carolinas Defensive Player of the Week by the league office on March 20.

A native of Parker, Colo., Brown delivered a remarkable performance in the net as Mount Olive knocked off No. 14 Seton Hill by an 8-6 margin on Saturday, March 18. He tallied 15 saves while facing nearly 45 total shots against the Griffins. Brown delivered a pivotal third quarter between the posts as he totaled six saves and held Seton Hill scoreless during that 15-minute stretch.

In his first season as the starter, Brown ranks 14th in NCAA Division II and second in the conference with 14.29 saves per game while boasting a .518 save percentage in seven games. He has tallied 100 saves on over 300 shot face this season and totaled at least 12 stops in six of seven games.
