North Duplin softball team wins

BEAULAVILLE — The North Duplin softball team defeated East Duplin in a road contest 8-0 March 20.

Lilly Fulghum had three hits, two RBI and two runs scored; Addy Higginbotham had two hits, one RBI and one run scored; Iala Overton had two hits, one RBI and two runs scored; Sara Thomas Tucker had two hits, one run scored and was hit by a pitch; Reece Outlaw had one hit, two runs scored and one walk; Kasey Jones had one hit, Ady Spence had one hit and M’chelle Jaco had one hit.

Fulghum was the winning pitcher with a seven-inning complete game. She allowed two hits, struck out four and walked three.

The Rebels improved to 5-1 on the season.
