Exhibitors needed at 15th annual career fair

GOLDSBORO — The Wayne County Chamber of Commerce’s 15th annual career fair will be held Thursday, April 6 at The Maxwell Center.
The chamber has invited eighth and 10th grade students including those in private, home schools and public schools to participate in the event. As before, the chamber is encouraging all exhibitors to provide some type of interactive presentation into their display.
This can be something simple, like a problem or issue that they have addressed in their business recently. A plumber could bring pipe and fittings that are used in their trade, an engineer could bring drawings from a past job and show the challenges that they faced while creating the drawings or retail merchants can bring their product and show the students how they inventory the products or how they are sold.
Setup will be from 3-5 p.m. April 5 and from 7-8:45 a.m. April 6. If their booth was set up on Wednesday, then exhibitors need to arrive around 8:45 a.m. to be ready for the first students. A small hand truck will be available, but participants may want to supply their own if they need to bring in large items. Special arrangements can be made for deliveries.
The first group of students is scheduled to arrive at 9 a.m. with the last group leaving at 2:35 p.m.
Exhibitors are asked to check in at the exhibitor registration table located just inside the back loading dock entrance.
They will receive an information package at the registration table. The package will contain exhibitor break room passes and information updates. The break room will have water, coffee and snacks.
There is no charge to participate. To register, complete the 2023 Career Fair Guidelines & Registration Form. The form is available at www.waynecountychamber.com.
Email completed registration forms to Janet Brock at janetb@waynecountychamber.com or fax them to 919-734-2247. For questions, feel free to contact Brock by cell at 919-922-7406 or at the chamber at 919-734-2241 or visit www.waynecountychamber.com.
