Brown is conference basketball Player of the Week

MOUNT OLIVE – For the second time this season, senior guard Michael Brown was named the Conference Carolinas Player of the Week by the league office on Feb. 13.

A senior guard from Winchester, Va., Brown averaged 20.5 points, nine assists, seven rebounds, and three steals per game, as the Trojans posted a 1-1 record in conference play last week. Brown posted a near triple-double after scoring a game-high 29 points on 11 of 19 shooting with 12 assists, eight rebounds and two steals at Chowan. He tallied 12 points while converting a perfect eight of eight from the free-throw line with six rebounds, six assists and four steals in a 101-80 win over Lees-McRae on Senior Day.

Brown ranks second in NCAA Division II with 167 assists while sitting 12th in the country with 539 total points. He has posted three double-doubles this season and is one of four players in the Conference Carolinas averaging more than 21 points per game. Brown has delivered a stellar senior campaign by eclipsing 500 points in a single season while converting 44.6 (62 of 139) from three-point range.
