Keck claims weekly conference honor

MOUNT OLIVE – After reaching an NCAA Standard over the weekend, senior Mary Brigid Keck was selected as the Conference Carolinas Field Athlete of the Week by the league office on Feb. 7.

A senior thrower from Newark, Ohio, Keck achieved her first NCAA Provisional mark of the indoor season in the weight throw at the South Carolina Invitational on Saturday. She registered a distance of 57 feet, 10 inches on her second toss to finish runner-up in the event. Keck holds the top distance and is the only athlete to reach the NCAA mark in the entire Southeast Region.

The defending conference champion in the weight throw and shot put, Keck received the league honor for the third time in her career at Mount Olive.
