Lahey is conference Specialist of the Week

MOUNT OLIVE – For the second time this year, University of Mount Olive freshman setter Jackson Lahey was named the Conference Carolinas Specialist of the Week by the conference office on Jan. 30.

Lahey averaged 10 assists, two digs and 1.25 aces per set as UMO produced a 2-0 record on the road in Georgia last week. He tallied six assists, two aces and one dig in a 3-0 win at Morehouse. Lahey directed the offense with 34 assists while adding three service aces, seven digs and one block in a 3-0 sweep at Fort Valley State.

A native of Pembroke Pines, Fla., he ranks second in NCAA Division II with 10.57 assists per set through the opening five matches of the season. Lahey has tallied at least 30 assists in three matches this year, while also being tied for the team lead with six aces.
