Ian causes schedule changes for UMO sports

MOUNT OLIVE  – Due to inclement weather in the forecast from Hurricane Ian, the University of Mount Olive field hockey and soccer programs have announced schedule changes for events scheduled this Saturday, Oct. 1.

In field hockey, the Trojans were originally set to host Lincoln Memorial in conference play Saturday at the Ray McDonald Sr. Sports Complex. Mount Olive rescheduled the match with LMU for Thursday, Oct. 13 at 3 or 4 p.m.

Also, the Trojans have officially rescheduled their postponed match against Coker which was originally set for Friday, Sept. 16. UMO and Coker have agreed to play the league match Tuesday, Oct. 18 at 4 p.m. on the road in Hartsville, S.C.

In women’s and men’s soccer, the Trojans were set to play North Greenville in a conference doubleheader in Tigerville, S.C. Saturday. Mount Olive and NGU will now play Friday, Sept. 30, with the women’s match starting at 11 a.m. and the men’s game set for 1 p.m.
