Wayne County Public Schools will hold “Let’s go to School,” an event designed to help parents prepare their children for Kindergarten, Saturday, April 1 beginning at 10 a.m. at the H.V. Brown Cultural Center and Neal Stitt Building, 801 Poplar Street in Goldsboro. The theme is inspired by the children’s book, “The Pigeon HAS to go to School” by Mo Willems. Families with children ages 0-5 are encouraged to attend. The “Let’s Go To School” event has a goal of helping support children in early education while also strengthening school-family relationships in preparation for Kindergarten. Community agencies such as the Wayne County Partnership for Children and the Wayne County Public Library will also share information and resources. Transportation, interpreters and child care are available upon request. In addition to receiving lunch and a free copy of the book, “Let’s Go to School,” any children who attend can expect food, a birthday party for The Pigeon, and party favors. Seating is limited so families are asked to R.S.V.P. by March 13. To register, click on Registration Link or call 919-705-6057.
