Wayne County to celebrate National Library Week April 23-29

WAYNE COUNTY — The Wayne County Board of Commissioners approved a proclamation designating April 23-29th as National Library Week during their meeting on April 18. Wayne County and the Wayne County Public Library encourage all community members to visit the library during National Library Week to explore all they have to offer.

Most people know about the wealth of stories available at the library, from picture books and large print books to audiobooks and ebooks. However, there’s so much more to the story of libraries.

Libraries are welcoming spaces that bring communities together for entertainment, education and connection through book clubs, storytimes, crafting classes, lectures and more. Wayne County Public Library offers a wide array of programs, classes and resources, including everything from STEM programming, to local history events, to programming that celebrates the diversity of our community.

Libraries play a critical role in the economic vitality of communities by providing internet and technology access, literacy skills, and support for job seekers, small businesses and entrepreneurs. Wayne County Public Library supports its community through partnerships and programs that empower local entrepreneurs, businesses, and job seekers.
