Wayne County promotes three department leadership positions

Wayne County is proud to announce the promotion of three individuals to department director positions within the organization. Angie Boswell, Jason Baker, and Gary Tillman have all been promoted to new roles.
Angie Boswell has been promoted to Finance Director and will oversee the County’s finances, purchasing and payroll. Boswell started with the Finance Department on May 10, 2010, and has held many positions within the department.

Before her promotion, she was the Assistant Finance Director. She replaces Allison Speight, who accepted another finance position in the private sector.

Jason Baker has been promoted to Inspections Director after serving as the Assistant Inspections Director before his promotion. Baker joined the County on June 21, 2021, and will continue to provide service to residents in the county and will complete new software implementation to improve service delivery.

He replaces Steve Stroud, who has retired from the county.

Gary Tillman has been promoted to Emergency Management Coordinator after serving as the Training Manager for the 911 Center. Tillman joined Wayne County on May 20, 2010, and will oversee the County’s emergency and disaster preparedness. He replaces Michael Dawson, who moved to the Human Resources Department as the Safety Officer for the County.

“I am happy to have Angie, Jason, and Gary in their new roles within the County,” said Chip Crumpler, County Manager. “They have served our residents for years and have grown within our organization. We look forward to their future success and remain committed to investing in our future leaders from within.”

Wayne County is committed to providing residents with quality service, and these promotions are a testament to that commitment. Congratulations to Angie Boswell, Jason Baker and Gary Tillman on their promotions.
