Marto selected to USILA Senior All-Star Game

MOUNT OLIVE – University of Mount Olive graduate student Mike Marto was selected as a face-off specialist for the South team in the 2023 USILA Senior All-Star Games, which were played Friday, May 26 at Cabrini University.

Marto was one of six Conference Carolinas student-athletes named to the South team, which features a combination of Division I and II players. Hampton head coach Chazz Woodson led the South team while Marist head coach Keegan Wilkinson was at the helm of the North team.

Marto, a graduate student from Saddle Brook, N.J., led the Conference Carolinas and finished second in NCAA Division II with a .691 face-off winning percentage as he won 239 face-offs this season in 15 games. He took nearly 92 percent (346 of 378) of the team’s total face-off attempts and scored three times for the Trojans. He was a first-team All-Conference Carolinas and USILA All-South Region selection.
