Marto, Parker voted to USILA all-region team

MOUNT OLIVE – Graduate student Mike Marto and junior Chapman Parker were both named to the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association Division II All-Region South Team.

Marto garnered USILA all-region honors for a second straight season while earning first team status for the first time in his career. He was the only player in the Conference Carolinas named to the first team as the league featured 13 student-athletes on the list. Marto was one of the best face-off specialists in the country this year after ranking second in NCAA Division II with a .691 face-off percentage (239 of 346). He won at least 15 face-offs in nine games, including four contests with 20 or more face-offs won. Marto also ranks second on the team with 65 ground balls and scored three goals in 15 games. He secured first-team all-conference honors for a consecutive year.

Following a breakout junior campaign, Parker was tabbed to the all-region team as an honorable mention after earning All-Conference Carolinas First-Team in the midfield. The New York native finished the season with 40 points after tallying a team-high 28 goals while dishing out 12 assists in 15 games. Parker also paced the team with 97 shots, including 52 on goals and added 11 ground balls. He totaled at least one point in every contest this year while netting three hat tricks.
