Casbarro, Jeffries named to NCBWA All-Region team

MOUNT OLIVE – Senior infielder Jack Casbarro and junior outfielder Dylan Jeffries were both voted to the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association All-Southeast Region Second Team.

Casbarro received NCBWA all-region honors for a second consecutive year after being named an All-American by two organizations in 2022. In early May, he earned all-conference honors for the third time in his career while receiving first team status for a second straight season. The Southern Wayne product has started all 52 games this year while boasting a .321 batting average in 215 at-bats. Casbarro ranks third in the Conference Carolinas with 30 stolen bases while ranking fourth with 68 runs scored. He also ranks among the top 10 in the league with 69 hits and 16 doubles this year. Casbarro has registered 19 multi-hit performances and 12 multi-RBI games while batting in four different positions in the lineup. He also was named to the All-Tournament team and voted to the All-Defensive Team by the Conference Carolinas.

Jeffries earned his first all-region nod after a breakout junior campaign with the Trojans. A native of Nakina, he ranks in the top half of the Conference Carolinas in several offensive categories. Jeffries is fifth in the league with 63 runs scored and seventh with 18 stolen bases this year. Batting primarily in the leadoff position, Jeffries ranks second on the team with a career-high 10 home runs and 20 multi-hit games while posting a .344 batting average. Defensively, he is one of the top center fielders in all of Division II baseball with a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage with 124 putouts. Jeffries was voted to the All-Conference Carolinas Second-Team and earned All-Defensive Team honors this season.
