UMO features six NWCA Scholar All-Americans

MANHEIM, Pa. (May 15) – The University of Mount Olive women’s wrestling team and six individuals were recognized on the National Wrestling Coaches Association 2022-23 NCAA Women’s Scholar All-America Team.

In its first year as a program, Mount Olive emerged as one of the top performers in the team category, boasting a 3.275 grade point average, the ninth-highest among institutions that offer women’s wrestling. Additionally, the Trojans featured six individual scholar All-Americans.

Freshman Gracie Cordasco, junior Brooke Hermel, freshman Isabella Kessey, freshman Isabel Rodriguez, freshman Skyelar Smith and freshman Jillian Timberlake all received the accolade from the NWCA.

“We are thrilled to recognize these remarkable scholars for their outstanding accomplishments. These wrestlers have shown an unwavering commitment to their academic and athletic pursuits, and we proudly applaud their achievements,” said NWCA Executive Director Mike Moyer.
