North Duplin edges Rosewood

CALYPSO — The North Duplin baseball team defeated Rosewood 6-5 in the finals of the Carolina 1A Conference tournament May 4.

Hunt Pate had two hits, two runs, one RBI, one stolen base and was hit by a pitch; Wesley Holmes had two hits, one run, one RBI, one walk and one stolen base; Tanner Kornegay was one hit and two walks, Austin Duff had one hit and one RBI, Brady Byrd had one hit, one RBI and one walk; Garris Warren had one hit, Tyler Kornegay had one hit, two runs, one stolen base and was hit by a pitch and Esteban Santos-Clark had one run, one stolen base and was hit by a pitch.

Richard Noble was the winning pitcher with 6 2/3 innings pitched and Santos-Clark pitched 1/3 inning.

The Rebels are 20-3 overall and 9-1 in conference games.
