Spring Creek splits two

SEVEN SPRINGS — The Spring Creek baseball team won a non-conference road game at Kinston 8-3 April 26 and lost a conference home game to Eastern Wayne 9-2 April 25.

Against Eastern Wayne, Jackson Lewis had one hit, Harrison Sutton had one hit and one run, Rusty Kornegay had one hit and one run and Justin Raifford had one hit.

Sutton pitched 6 2/3 innings and Maddox Edwards pitched 1/3 inning.

Against Kinston, Sutton had two hits, two runs, two RBI and two stolen bases; Justin Raifford had two hits, two runs, one RBI and one stolen base; Rylan Kornegay had one hit, one run, one RBI and one stolen base; Edwards had one hit and one RBI, Rusty Kornegay had two runs, two RBI and two stolen bases; Orrin Tickles had one run and one RBI and Lewis had one walk.

Rusty Kornegay was the winning pitcher, tossing a complete game.

The Gators are 2-11 overall and 1-6 conference game.
