Southern Wayne defeats West Johnston

DUDLEY — The Southern Wayne baseball team defeated West Johnston 9-2 in a home conference game April 21.

Cuyler Daly had two hits, one run, two RBI and one stolen base; Jake Coates had two hits, two runs, two RBI and one walk; Drew Sweet had one hit (a home run), two runs, two RBI and one walk; Tyler Odom had one hit, one run and one walk; Alex Ferrell had one hit and two runs, Dylan Daniels had one hit and one walk, Hayden Waller had one hit and one run and Brayden McKee had two RBI and one walk.

Sweet was the winning pitcher with a seven-inning complete game. He allowed one earned run, struck out six and walked one.

The Saints are 12-5 overall and 6-4 in conference games.
