Southern Wayne defeats East Wake

DUDLEY — The Southern Wayne baseball team defeated East Wake 11-4 April 18 in a home conference game.

Cuyler Daly had three hits, one run and five RBI; Tyler Odom had two hits, one run and one RBI; Alex Ferrell had two hits, including a home run, three runs, two RBI, one walk and one stolen base; Jake Coates had two hits, Hayden Waller had two hits, two runs, one RBI, one walk and two stolen bases; Brayden McKee had one hit, two runs, two RBI and one walk, Drew Sweet had one run and one walk, Ella’ Boykin had one run and two walks and Dylan Daniels had one walk.

Odom was the winning pitcher. He pitched 5 2/3 innings and allowed no earned runs. Ferrell pitched the final 1 1/3 innings allowing no earned runs.

The Saints are 11-5 overall and 5-4 in conference games.
