North Duplin beats Lakewood in extra innings

ROSEBORO — The North Duplin baseball defeated Lakewood 9-5 in extra innings in an away conference game April 18.

Tanner Kornegay had two hits, two runs and one RBI; Richard Noble had two hits, two runs and two stolen bases; Austin Duff had two hits, two runs, three RBI, two walks and one stolen base; Tyler Johnsey had two hits, Hunt Pate had one hit, two runs, one walk and two stolen bases; Brady Byrd had one hit, one run, one RBI, one walk and one stolen base; Garris Warren had two walks, Esteban Santos-Clark had one walk and was hit by a pitch and Branden Reyna had one stolen base.

Eric Rosas was the winning pitcher with three innings of relief. He struck out six and allowed no earned runs. Noble started and pitched six innings, allowing one earned run and striking out 12.

The Rebels are 15-2 overall and 6-0 in conference games.
