Ledbetter is Pitcher of the Week

MOUNT OLIVE – After earning the series-clinching save against North Greenville, University of Mount Olive junior right-handed pitcher Andrew Ledbetter was selected as the Conference Carolinas Pitcher of the Week.

A relief pitcher from Huntington Station, N.Y., Ledbetter secured the series-winning save this past Saturday in the 10-4 Mount Olive win over No. 1 North Greenville. He tossed three scoreless innings while yielding one hit with five strikeouts and two walks against the Crusaders. He retired the side in order in the eighth inning before forcing a game-ending double play in the ninth.

Ledbetter holds a 2-1 record on the mound with two saves after making nine appearances in relief this season. In 13.1 innings pitched, he has tallied 18 strikeouts with eight walks while boasting a 2.70 ERA. In his previous two relief appearances, Ledbetter has yielded zero runs on one hit with seven strikeouts in seven innings.
