Keck wins weekly conference award

GREENVILLE, S.C. (March 23) – After improving her NCAA provisional mark over the weekend, senior thrower Mary Brigid Keck was chosen as the Conference Carolinas Field Athlete of the Week.

A native of Newark, Ohio, Keck earned her second weekly honor of the outdoor campaign as she enhanced her NCAA provisional mark in the hammer throw while also reaching the conference qualifying mark in the discus. Keck placed fifth overall at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational with a distance of 54.48 meters to finish behind four Division I throwers in a field of nearly 60 competitors in the hammer throw. Her mark ranks second in NCAA Division II and holds the top spot in the Southeast Region. Additionally, Keck recorded a sixth-place finish in Myrtle Beach in the discus with a toss of 37.81 meters, which ranks third in the league this year.
