GOLDSBORO – Derrick Dabney is the recipient of a 2023 North Carolina Community College System Academic Excellence Award.

Dabney, a Raleigh resident, is a second-year student at Wayne Community College. He is enrolled in the Aviation Systems Technology program and has already earned a Federal Aviation Administration Aviation Mechanic – Airframe Certificate.
