WCPS presents 2023 Performing Arts Series

WAYNE COUNTY — Wayne County Public Schools will kick off its second annual Performing Arts Series in conjunction with “Arts in Our Schools Month.”

“We are excited to host this special Performing Arts Series, which will highlight more than 400 students from across the district in the areas of theatre, band and chorus,” said Christy White, Title IV enrichment facilitator. “While these events are traditionally attended by families and staff, the events are free to attend and community members are welcome to come out and enjoy these three evenings of performances.”

On Thursday, March 16, WCPS will hold its second All-County Theatre Festival. More than 80 theatre students from Dillard Middle, Greenwood Middle, Norwayne Middle and Goldsboro High will take the stage to perform a variety of acts. The event will take place in the Goldsboro High auditorium at 6 p.m.

On Tuesday, April 4, WCPS will host its annual All-County Choral Festival. Approximately 230 elementary, middle and high school students from Wayne County Public Schools will come together to showcase their vocal talents. Accomplished professionals will direct the talented groups of students who represent 23 elementary, middle and high schools across the district. The event will take place at the Goldsboro High School auditorium at 6 p.m.

On Friday, April 21, WCPS will host its annual All-County Band Festival. Approximately 120 middle and high school band members from Wayne County Public Schools will come together to showcase their instrumental talents. Accomplished professionals will direct the talented groups of students who represent 13 middle and high schools across the district. The event will take place in the Dillard Middle School auditorium at 6:30 p.m.
