Noble hurls no-hitter

TRENTON — North Duplin’s Richard Noble tossed a no-hitter March 14 as the Rebels’ baseball team defeated Jones County 13-0.
Noble pitched six innings, struck out 11 and walked two.
Brady Byrd had two hits, three RBI, one run scored, one walk and one stolen base; Noble had one hit, one RBI, two runs scored and one walk; Austin Duff had one hit, two RBI and one walk; Hunt Pate had one hit, two runs scored, one walk and one stolen base; Tyler Johnsey had one hit, two RBI, one run scored and two walks; Eric Rosas had one hit, two RBI and one stolen base; Wesley Holmes had one run scored, one walk and two stolen bases; Garris Warren had three runs scored, two walks and two stolen bases; Vance Carter had one run scored and one stolen base, Kayden Bowden had one run scored and Thomas Moorsiey had one run scored and one walk.
The Rebels improved to 5-0 on the season.
