Southern Wayne tennis team begins season

DUDLEY — The Southern Wayne boys’ tennis team began play for the 2023 season over the past two weeks.

On Feb. 27, they lost 7-2 to East Wake. Hudson Hulet won for the Saints at No. 4 singles and Hulet and Matthew Blizzard won at No. 2 doubles.

On March 2, they were defeated 8-1 by West Johnston. Andrew Bryan won the Saints’ point at No. 1 singles.

On March 3, they took an 8-1 loss to Eastern Wayne. Blizzard won at No. 5 singles.

On March 6, they were defeated 9-0 by Hunt.
