Southern Wayne wins two on diamond

DUDLEY — The Southern Wayne baseball team defeated Goldsboro 13-3 March 2 and Northern Nash 9-2 March 3.

Against Goldsboro, Drew Sweet had two hits, two RBI, two runs, one stolen base and two runs scored; Alex Ferrell had two hits, two RBI and three runs scored; Cuyler Daly had one hit and one RBI, Jake Coates had one hit and one run scored, Brayden McKee had one hit and two RBI, Hayden Waller had one hit, two runs scored and two stolen bases; Tyler Odom had one RBI and two runs scored, Ella’ Boykin had two runs scored and a stolen base and Dylan Daniels had one RBI and one run scored.

McKee pitched four innings for the win and Daly pitched one inning.

Against Northern Nash, Ferrell had two hits, two runs and one stolen base; Coates had two hits, four RBI and one run scored; Sweet had one hit, one RBI and two runs scored, Waller had one hit and one run scored, Daly had one RBI, Odom had two RBI and one run scored, Boykin had one run scored and McKee had one run scored.

Odom pitched 5 2/3 innings for the win and Ferrell pitched 1 2/3 innings.

Southern Wayne improved to 3-0.
