Keck hits NCAA Standard, UMO sets six league marks

WILMINGTON – Senior Mary Brigid Keck recorded an NCAA provisional mark in the hammer throw, while the Trojans reached six conference qualifying marks on Friday on the opening day of the UNCW Seahawk Invitational.

Keck established her first NCAA standard of the outdoor season in the hammer throw. She claimed first place in the event following her toss of 53.00 meters on her second attempt. Keck won the event by a significant margin and secured maximum points in the team standings.

Additionally, sophomore Adrienne Crawford secured second place and a conference mark after reaching a distance of 43.06 meters, while senior Kaliya Sutton set a personal record and qualified for the conference championships with a mark of 41.17 meters to seal third overall.

In the javelin, junior Danielle Trimbur placed third individually and hit a conference qualifying standard after tossing 38.25 meters in the season-opening event. Teammate Tylyia Triggs also reached the conference mark after posting a distance of 30.08 meters.

Freshman Ciara Sutton competed in the 5,000 meters and crossed the line with a time of 19 minutes, 34.17 seconds to finish third overall and reach the conference championship standard.
