Hune is conference Player of the Week

MOUNT OLIVE – After an impressive week on the defensive end, junior forward Reagan Hune was named Conference Carolinas Defensive Player of the Week by the league office on Feb. 6.
A 5-foot-10 forward, Hune averaged 18 points, seven rebounds and three steals per game as Mount Olive hosted two league games last week. Against Barton, Hune reached double figures with 10 points while collecting eight rebounds, two assists and one steal. Hune closed the week with a career-high 26 points on 12 of 19 from the field with six rebounds, five steals, one block and zero turnovers in an 83-52 victory versus King.
Over the last seven games, Hune has stepped into a consistent starting role and ranks second on the team in scoring with 12.3 points per game during that stretch. She has converted 39 of 70 shooting (55.7 percent) from the field while also collecting 6.4 rebounds, 2.7 steals and 1.7 assists per game. The Trojans have received the defensive player of the week honor three times this year with Hune receiving the accolade for the first time this season.
