Faison is conference Field Athlete of the Week

MOUNT OLIVE – For the second time during the indoor season, senior thrower Joshua Faison was selected as the Conference Carolinas Field Athlete of the Week by the league office on Jan. 31.

A native of Clayton, Faison registered a second-place finish this past Saturday in the shot put while competing at the VMI Winter Classic. He achieved a distance of 54 feet, four inches on his second attempt to finish as the runner-up in the event.

Faison continues to hold the top spot in the conference in the shot put while ranking sixth in the weight throw with under three weeks left before the Conference Carolinas championship.
