Trojans compete at Mondo College Invitational

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Competing in their first event of the new year, the Trojans featured a pair of new qualifiers in the 200 meters at the Mondo College Invitational hosted at the JDL Fast Track on Jan. 14.

Senior Jaiden Moody and sophomore Vinesha Briggs each hit the league mark in the 200 meters in their first appearance in the event this indoor season. Moody crossed the line in 26.24 seconds to set the fourth-best time in the Conference Carolinas this season. She was an All-Region recipient in the 4×400 Relay in 2022 and the conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year. Briggs set a mark of 26.27 in the 200 meters, which ranks sixth in the league in the event.

In the pole vault, freshman Trinity Frayer improved her conference qualifying mark and set a new personal record with a height of nine feet, two inches, which sits second all-time in UMO history.

Senior Jaylin Reeves matched her league time in the prelims of the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.70 seconds before finishing third overall in the finals of the event after crossing the line in 7.72 seconds.

In the weight throw, senior Mary Brigid Keck placed second overall with a toss of 51 feet, one inch on her third attempt.
