Dangler selected to women’s soccer all-tournament team

BROWNS SUMMIT, N.C. – Following her performance in the conference tournament, University of Mount Olive midfielder Addison Dangler was named to the Conference Carolinas All-Tournament Team for women’s soccer.

In her first appearance in the conference tournament, Dangler earned just her sixth start of the season and netted the opening goal of the contest versus UNC Pembroke off a rebound to give UMO a 1-0 advantage in the seventh minute. She played a total of 65 minutes in the match before suffering an injury in the second half.

A native of Manassas, Va., Dangler had a stellar first season with the Trojans and earned Conference Carolinas Third-Team All-Conference honors. She ranked third on the team with 15 points behind six goals and three assists after playing in 15 matches with six starts. She was also named the women’s soccer October Freshman of the Month and earned Conference Carolinas Offensive Player of the Week this season.

Under first-year head coach Ian Brophy, the Trojans concluded the season with a 13-5 overall record and advanced to the semifinals of the league championship for a fourth consecutive year.

The All-Tournament Team included, Anna Grossheim, midfielder, UNC Pembroke (MVP); Iiaya Bigford, midfielder, UNC Pembroke; Mercy Bell, forward, UNC Pembroke; Eugenie Amidou, midfielder, UNC Pembroke; Alexah Fite, midfielder, North Greenville; Romee Contreras, forward, North Greenville; Dangler and Goose Andrews, forward, Belmont Abbey.
