Ronnberg claims weekly league honor

GREENVILLE, S.C. – After registering his first career top-10 finish, freshman Rasmus Ronnberg was named the Conference Carolinas Golfer of the Week Nov. 2.

A native of Kungsängen, Sweden, Ronnberg fired an even par 216 (74-73-69) at the McDonough Cup hosted by Rollins at the Rio Pinar Country Club. He was one of 12 golfers in the field to shoot even-par or better at the two-day event and tied for fourth among individual players with 39 pars.

Ronnberg vaulted 13 positions on the final day after matching a career-best round of three-under 69. During the final round, he carded an eagle on the opening hole before recording three birdies on the back-nine to post the best finish of his career.

A 6-foot-4 freshman, Ronnberg holds a career scoring average of 72.56 after playing in three events this fall. He earned the conference accolade for the first time.

Mount Olive concluded their fall season on Tuesday after competing in three events, including a pair in Florida.
